Naver Translate crash problem

Post  yuuki on Sat Dec 06, 2014 10:50 pm

Hi~ I'm re-reading cheese in the trap again (I so love this series <3)
I've tried the old plug in way back 2011 and did not experienced any problem with it.
Now, I'm trying naver translate. It works fine after a few lines but it starts working slow (can't scroll down) and always crashes.

Is this a problem on my side? or it this how it really works now?
Is there a method that I can try to avoid crashing?

Please help Smile

Hello yuuki,

could you tell me which kind of computer you are using (laptop, desktop, smartphone?).

Also, I'll probably update a litttle bit the script tomorrow (it's evening now for me), so maybe it fill fix your problem then, but I'm not sure yet.

Thanks.

Same issue on chrome.

I'm using a Sony Viao laptop,

I've only been experiencing this problem since today.

I viewed Cheese in the trap last week and it worked fine,

however when I tried to read it today with the Naver Translate (java script), it always crashes after a few scrolls.

How can it be fixed? Thanks for your help.

I actually just discovered your plug-in today and assumed that the crashes were a normal thing, but it seems like other people are having issues too?

I'm using a laptop.

And here I thought I'm the only one having this kind of issue.
I'll try it after your update and I'll get back on you for feed back Smile

Thank you for working hard, hope you'll have a great day ahead Smile

Could you tell me if you use my script with Tampermonkey (the Chrome addon), or without?

(that's a question for both yuuki and anon).

Thanks for your time.

Hello,

i'm experiencing a similar problem with Firefox, both with the Greasemonkey Script and with the Javascript-Bookmark.

the Script seems to not load the first and last picture of a chapter, however this only happens for chapters from s1 ch 37 or older, from s1 ch 38 onwards it seems to work perfectly.

Thank you for help.

As a small follow-up, the script seems to be working fine in Chrome. Seems like a rather odd Firefox error.

I used both tapemonkey and the bookmark one. I deleted tapermonkey because it is slow, I can't even read properly Sad
The naver bookmark is still crashing.

hello, ive been having the same problem as you.
everytime i click on the naver bookmark, it goes for little while and then crashes. i also use chrome too.
BUT i have solved this problem!
have you tried deleting your browser history?
what ive done was just go to settings and delete ALL of my history since the beginning of time.
but im sure just browsing history would work.
so now, ever since then it hadnt crashed on me, so maybe since it worked for me, you can give it a shot.
i hoped i helped.

Hi everyone,

I had the same issue on chrome with the tampermonkey script on Linux.
I checked and it seems like there is a memory leak either in the script or tampermonkey. In my case, with the memory details tool in chrome, I could see that every time I scrolled down, the Naver page was taking 50-100MB more until chrome ended the process at around 2G.
The memory link doesn't happen on firefox even though I used the exact same script.

I don't have Opera installed, but it might be useful to try to reproduce it there.

As Anon says, from chapter 38 onwards, the pages no longer crash. I also notice that from ch38 onwards, there appears the credits and logo of Odd Squad Scans when clicking the 'Naver Translate', which does not happen for the chapters before 38 that i've read.
